Construction Take-Off & Estimating Specialist – Spray Fireproofing

Nettles Construction Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator for its Fireproofing Division Team based in Kansas City, KS.

Employment Type

Full-time (M-F)
Starting Salary $75,000 – $85,000

Job Description

Using today’s construction search capabilities, find appropriate projects for the NCS Spray Fireproofing division team.
Translate construction documents into division specific and accurate takeoffs, estimates and proposals.
Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects using today’s estimating software.
Establish labor productivities for estimate.
Maintain positive relationships with division vendors for competitive material pricing.
Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
Be involved in the internal bid/post bid reviews with supervisors and project team.
Participate in maintaining positive customer relations.
Assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
Assist in other duties as assigned such as RFI’s, change order management, billings and calls to determine project scope.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

5 years Construction Estimating Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science/Management or similar discipline.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with take-off software, such as BuzzBid, The Estimating Edge, OST, Construct Connect, Stack or similar.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and take on new challenges.

Physical Requirement

Employees are required to remain in a seated position, working on a computer for continuous periods of time.
Employees are required to raise or lower objects from one level to another occasionally during the day, 5 to 15 pounds.
