Project Summary
The HomeField Masterplan is a $848 million development project located in Kansas City, KS, and set to open in Spring 2025. Sunflower Development Group, in partnership with Margaritaville and HomeField KC, is constructing a new Margaritaville Hotel on the property, which will include 229 hotel rooms and a resort-style pool area.
The Problem
This was a large and complex new construction project–the total project cost for the Margaritaville Hotel is projected at $150 million. The facility is large and, and as a hospitality building, must adhere to strict safety codes and regulations. The general contractor needed a spray-applied fireproofing contractor that had expertise in both cementitious fireproofing and intumescent paint, as both types were needed throughout the facility.
The Nettles Solution
The Nettles team was able to spray cementitious fireproofing throughout the entire Margaritaville Hotel facility, as well as other parts of the HomeField KC complex. After completing the cementitious fireproofing application, we applied intumescent paint, which is more aesthetically appealing and can be used in more constrained spaces.
Although this was a large and complex fireproofing project, the Nettles team was able to meet all deadlines and facilitate communication and collaboration between the general contractor and other stakeholders, to ensure the project ran smoothly.
Nettles is one of the largest and most respected subcontractors and installers of spray applied fireproofing in the country. We work across the Midwest, including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Kansas, the Dakotas, and more.
