Project Overview

Project Summary
Nettles poured low-density cellular concrete (LDCC) to support the outside of a cast-in-place swimming pool in a Texas single-family residence.
The Problem
This pool was not only located in a residential area–it was actually inside the house, making access to the jobsite challenging. Heavy truck traffic was not permitted, and the pour location was a significant distance from where the pumping equipment could be placed. Heavy backfill was not recommended, and no compaction equipment was allowed, so the client needed a low-weight, self-compacting solution that could be pumped at a distance.

The Nettles Solution
We customized an engineered fill mix design that combined low weight and high strength, then ran our fill hoses around the structural obstacles to inject the pour at the optimal location. Nettles flowable fill increases its volume at 3 to 8 times the magnitude of traditional fill, allowing us to minimize truck traffic and keep material costs down.
The high flowability of the product ensured that all the unusual angles and potential void pockets within the site were filled.

Nettles is one of the largest and most respected subcontractors and installers of flowable fill in the country. We work across the Midwest, from the Dakotas down to the Gulf of Mexico, including Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas.
